Marvin Smith, Principal
My main goal as principal of EMS is to create a safe, positive learning environment, where students can feel safe to explore, learn and grow. I want students to be treated as individuals, and I want them to find and explore their own passions. Every student is unique, and it's important to me that they feel loved and respected as individuals. Building relationships with students and families is of the upmost importance to me. My staff and I will continue to add things to our toolboxes to ensure that we focus on the whole child and we will continue to deepen our commitment to helping students learn and grow.
When I'm not at school or doing grad school work, you will find me spending time with my two sons, Braden (13) and Mason (8). We love to be outside where they play a variety of sports, we love fishing, and I love golf. I am excited to be an EMS Knight, and I look forward to continuing the sustained excellence in our school and community. It is important in these middle years that parents remain involved in our students' learning. We always welcome parents and guardians to be part of our learning community by visiting, volunteering, and attending PTO and School Improvement Team meetings. We need your support as we participate in athletics, and most importantly, stay in communication with your child's teachers. Thank you for your continued support of the EMS community, and as always, Go Knights!!!
